Principal

Welcome to Davidson Early College High School

Jason Israel

I am both honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the principal of Davidson Early College High School. I am in my tenth year as an Administrator with Davidson County Schools and this is my 30th year in Education. I graduated from Waynesburg University with a B.A. in History with a secondary education certification. I then earned an M.A. in School Administration with licensure from Gardner–Webb University.  During my 20 years as a classroom teacher, I earned my National Board Certification.  My educational career began in 1994 as a Social Studies teacher and coach in South Florida at Western High School in Davie.  I moved to North Carolina in 2001 and taught Social Studies and coached at North Davidson High School prior to beginning my administrative career as an Assistant Principal at West Davidson High School, where I worked for four years. I returned to North Davidson as the Assistant Principal for three years.

As part of the North Carolina Cooperative Innovative High School program, our students continue to benefit from the expanding opportunities for educational success through the demanding coursework offered, not only at our high school, but also at Davidson County Community College. We are continuing our partnership with the Regional Triangle Institute (RTI).  RTI will continue to provide DECHS with Customized Instructional Support and Leadership Development to advance effective teaching and learning.

The faculty and staff of DECHS is committed to helping our students become global citizens, ready for the challenges of college, a career, and life.

What makes you unique, makes us extraordinary.  I am looking forward to experiencing that unique journey with each of you.

Mr. Jason Israel
